Way Cooler Than Dr. PhilOkay, so you're asking yourself why in the world I decided to make a shrine to Dr. Serph Sheffield of all people? He's a cunning, heartless, manipulative prat who cares only for power! He uses and abuses those around him, sadistically cheering as they're struck down by his machinations! He's gleeful when he triumphs over the kind-hearted Dr. Heat O'Brien, and he cares naught for those he destroys! When he comes back as a phantom he blames other people for his failure! He pissed God off!To which I reply: that's why I love Dr. Sheffield! All those reasons! He's unsympathetic, indifferent, calculating, and completely remorseless. He's too smart for his own good, but too stupid to know better. He has this crazy idea that he can attain the power of God -- and for a brief time he does get that power. Sure, it leads to some death and destruction, but hey, that's the price of being an evil genius! Okay, I'm also really fond of Embryon-flavored Serph, too, and I like to imagine that he inherited Dr. Sheffield's positive traits -- provided there were any. Also, I don't think the Digital Devil Saga games -- or Megaten games in general -- get enough love in the West. I'm hoping someone who also has an affinity for evil little shits checks this site out and says, hey, that game is about cyberpunk teenagers and the evil doctors they're inspired by -- I think I'll give it a whirl!
