Datelate: Taisho Era Japan. One boy, his talking cat, lazy boss, journalist friend, mad scientist ally, and a half-a-dozen tubes or so of demons save the day. Or so the story goes...

A young Japanese high school student turned paranormal detective, Raidou Kuzunoha wasn't always, well, "Raidou Kuzunoha." Originally named Jouhei (according to the prequel novel) and raised in an isolated village far away from the bustling of the Capital, Raidou passed the summoner initiation in order to become the fourteenth Raidou Kuzunoha Devil Summoner. Tasked with protecting the Capital at all costs, Raidou works as an employee at the Narumi Detective Agency, run by former spy turned modern man Shouhei Narumi. The agency provides a cover for Raidou to stay close to all the action as he struggles to uncover the many supernatural troubles plaguing the Capital. His sarcastic feline mentor, Gouto, is with Raidou every step of the way as they fight to save the girl, the day, and occasionally time and space itself.
