I was immediately enthralled with Gippal. His confidence, his
looks, his spirit, his humor -- heck, even the slightly cheesy Machine Faction
music that plays during most of his scenes. As the story progressed and his
pivotal role within the game began to be revealed, I found myself even more
entranced with the cocky, good-hearted Al Bhed. An unusual leader and a loyal,
steadfast friend, he wasn't at all like I had been led to believe from fanfics;
I was expecting a slightly dense braggart whose only goal was to bed women and
look good doing it. Gippal is so much more than that -- in fact, as you can
probably see from the shrine itself, he is the exact opposite. He enjoys life,
he enjoys laughter, and he enjoys friends; he knows when to fight and when to
stay silent, when to smile and move on, and when to stand firm for what he
believes in. He is independent, inventive, smart, sincere, trustworthy, and one
of the most genuinely
good Final Fantasy characters ever created. He is
the Mr. Nice Guy.
Not to mention he's a real looker too.
