In Brainless, I discussed just how brilliant Gippal truly is. In this essay, I will explore some possible talents and creative occupations for our favorite Rogue Genius.

Gippal's strongest suite is, obviously, technology and engineering. He is quick to repair Shinra's sphere, fast to deduce just how to get rid of Vegnagun, and almost criminally clever with the designs for the Superweapon. In Spira, this would undoubtedly assure his place as Faction leader until his death or its demise, whichever happened to come first. Working within the organization, he could set Spira on the pathway of progress and advancement, and probably become the single most influential leader in this area.

If Gippal lived in the modern world, it is easy to see him as a mechanical engineering student. Building robots and discovering new ways to rig ordinary objects to do extraordinary jobs would be right up his alley. Besides, you just know that he would love blowing things up. It is also easy to see his laidback, jovial personality earning him a place as a bartender during his college years. He would have the sort of nature that led people to opening up, then buying yet another overpriced shot of vodka. Cue Billy Joel's Piano Man.

Gippal has an amazing way with people. Few people seem to dislike him, and despite his absences, the Faction still loyally follows him. Charismatic in a subtle, less political way than Nooj or Baralai, he could find himself (most likely against his wishes) in the role of a third leader to turn to when two party politics got too rough for Spirans.

The Gipster was a strong, capable fighter during the Crimson Squad trials, and he never appeared to shirk his part of the duties. True, he was prone to banter, but often times it kept the mood light and helped curb any possible panic. Such a team member would be valuable in any operation.

As for random, entirely off the wall talents, I can see Gippal making really good pancakes; what a show-off with his superior flipping abilities as he calmly tells the waiting diners that it's really just like making a machina: you combine the parts and rig them together until just right. He can probably also build an excellent tree house, and play a mean guitar. Come on, you know they're all appealing thoughts!
