Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army

The third in the Devil Summoner line and one of the few Megami Tensei games to be released in the U.S., Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army is a fast-paced video game that deals with life, love, and a giant battle ship inhabited by the spirit of a vengeful god.

Okay, so it's not the kind of game you play every day.

Released by Atlus in 2006 (2007 in Europe), the story follows young silent protagonist Raidou Kuzunoha the XIVth as he explores 1920s Japan in pursuit of the truth behind the mysterious demonic incidents that plague the capitol. Something of a departure from other games in the franchise, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army is nonetheless a worthy entry into the series. Anything goes in the world of Raidou: Yakuza leaders, lazy detectives, and intrepid reporters hobnob with talking cats and eccentric scientists, while a few famous historical figures pop up when you least expect it. While it is on the short side, it is definitely a game to check out.
